What to Expect?

What to Expect?

At Ennis Assembly, we come together as a community to worship Jesus. There will be a time of worship through prayer and singing. Pastor Greg Ledgerwood will provide a biblical teaching with modern application every Sunday. We make it our mission to love God and love people around us through the way we live our lives every day. It won’t take you long to discover that we’re more than just a Sunday church, as we have a variety of opportunities throughout the week to connect with God and others.

Each weekend at Ennis Assembly you’ll find a friendly atmosphere with a mix of both contemporary and traditional styles of worship and a practical, relevant message.  Nursery is available, and fully staffed throughout the service.  Children are dismissed to Sunday Kids Church during the service, which is available to Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. Instead, we hope that you will feel welcomed and have a chance to meet and connect with members of our church family.

At Ennis Assembly, your children are a top priority. Our nursery is clean, safe, and staffed with loving workers for infants up to Pre-kindergarten.  There are activities for both boys and girls through our Sunday Kids Church and Wednesday Kids Club.

We are self governing and voluntarily cooperate with the Assemblies of God and the Montana Network of the Assemblies of God.

The 16 Fundamental Truths was developed to identify who we are and what we believe as a cooperative fellowship of churches.

Our History

Establishment of our church

A long-time Madison Valley resident, Margaret Daems, prayed for a Pentecostal Church to be established for many years. As a result, Ennis Assembly started as a home Bible study in 1972. The first official service was held on September 22, 1974 with 33 people in attendance at the old FNI building. Wayne and Mona Snyder served as the first Pastor.

Expansion and outreach

Growth caused the new congregation to move within two months to a home between the Catholic Church and what was the Rock Shop. In August of 1975 a rich tradition of Sunday School picnics began. Eight people were baptized in water. Marvin and Betty Jo Eldridge came to Ennis on August 21, 1975 with the departure of Pastor Snyder. The Eldridges were the first “full-time” pastors for Ennis Assembly. The church was full of activity for the entire family.

Building

Land and Building

Land was purchased where the church currently sits in 1976. Official groundbreaking for the log church building was June 6, 1976. The church met in what was the basement of the Masonic Temple at this time. The first service in the new building was held in the basement on Christmas Eve of 1976. The full building was finished and dedicated on June 3, 1977. The logs are still visible on the interior of the building today.

Growth

A new addition (sanctuary, foyer, classrooms and offices) was added in 2003-04. The first service was held in the new sanctuary on December 24, 2004. The remarkable part was that construction started a week after Pastor George Ady left who dreamt of the addition and construction continued during a time of no lead pastor. Family Ministries continued to be the hallmark of Ennis Assembly with youth ministries, Royal Rangers, Missionettes, Sunday School and Women’s Ministries. Through several Pastorates the congregation moved forward in unity and purpose.

New Leadership

After some struggles in 2007-08 and consecutive short term pastorates, the Montana District of the Assemblies of God asked Pastor Greg and D’awn Ledgerwood to pray about coming to Ennis to serve as pastor in 2014. Upon a unanimous vote of the Ennis Assembly people, the Ledgerwoods accepted the invitation to come. They began their ministry on October 5, 2014.

Regained Status

The church relaunched its passion for family ministries. The Lord has blessed and our church body has responded with vibrance and vision. On June 25, 2017 Ennis Assembly celebrated the inaugural “Celebration Sunday” marking a moment the church regained it’s General Council Status with the Assemblies of God.
